Retargeter Plugin

  1. 'Performance' Menu.
    • Open - Opens a performance.
    • Backup or Restore - Used to backup or restore a performance.
    • Import Sound - Imports a .wav sound file into your scene.
    • Set Playback Range - Sets the timeline range in your scene.
    • Scene Frame Offset - Offsets retargeter data by x frames.
    • Clear All Keys - Removes all keyframes from character rig except for your retargeter poses.
    • Revert To Poses - Sets character rig to stored retargeter poses.
    • Reload Retargeting Results - Reloads the last retargeting results onto the character rig.
  2. 'Pose Groups' Menu.
    • New Range - Creates a new frame range within a pose group.
    • Edit Range - Edit options on a frame range.
    • Delete Range - Deletes a frame range from your performance.
    • Copy Range - Make a copy of a frame range and all of its poses.
  3. 'Advanced' Menu.
    • Character Setup - Launches the Character Setup Tool.
    • Check Current Character - Checks if current character rig is valid with current character setup file.
    • Preferences - Opens Retargeter preferences.
  4. 'Help' Menu.
    • Documentation - Launches the Retargeter Documentation.
    • About - Information on the current FACEWARE™ Retargeter build.)
  5. List Of Pose Groups And Frame Ranges.
  6. The name of the current pose group.
  7. Actual frame ranges to be retargeted.
  8. Pruning value for the frame range.
  9. Prune spacing value for the frame range.
  10. Smoothing value for the frame range.
  11. Master Control for the frame range.
  12. Create a new frame range within the selected pose group. (Please see Using Frame Ranges for more information.)
  13. Edit the selected frame range.
  14. Delete the selected frame range.
  15. Make a copy of the selected frame range.
  16. This tab contains all of the poses for the selected pose group. (PRO)
  17. This tab contains all of the shared poses for the current character rig. (PRO)
  18. This checkbox toggles whether or not a pose will be used when retargeting. (PRO)
  19. Frame that the pose is set on in your scene. (PRO)
  20. Video frame the pose originated from. (PRO)
  21. Description or name of pose. Used by the animator to keep track of what their poses are. (Smile, Yell, Frown, etc.) (PRO)
  22. Add a new pose to this pose group. (PRO)
  23. Store your updated pose in the retarget data after you make changes to it. (PRO)
  24. Delete the selected pose. (PRO)
  25. Set the character rig to its default for the selected pose group on the the current frame. (PRO)
  26. Make a copy of or move the selected pose. (PRO)
  27. Gets a number of auto poses. (Please see Auto Pose for more information.) (PRO)
  28. The number of auto poses you want to get. (PRO)
  29. Retargets selected pose group. (Please see Retargeting for more information.)
  30. Options to Retarget selected objects or attributes only. Note: You cannot retarget attributes only in Max, only objects.
  31. Name of current video performance.
  32. Name of current character rig.
  33. Retargeter build version.
  34. Check if you want to use AutoSolve during retargeting.
  35. Checks/unchecks all of the available poses (PRO)

Character Setup Tool

  1. 'File' Menu. Contains the following options:
    • New (Creates a new Character Setup File.)
    • Load (Load a Character Setup File)
    • Save (Save current Character Setup File.)
  2. Character Name
  3. Rig Groups 
  4. Name of the rig group.
  5. List of rig control attributes in selected rig group.
  6. Create a new rig group.
  7. Edit selected rig group.
  8. Delete selected rig group.
  9. Name of the attribute. Can be renamed.
  10. Minimum value allowed for that attribute.
  11. Maximum value allowed for that attribute.
  12. Default value for that attribute.
  13. Absolute path to attribute.
  14. Add a new attribute under selected rig group.
  15. Edit selected attribute.
  16. Delete selected attribute.
  17. Brings up a GUI to assist in adding rig controls.
  18. Test if selected attributes are valid on the character rig.
  19. Set the minimum value for this control to it's current scene value.
  20. Enter a minimum value manually.
  21. Set the maximum value for this control to it's current scene value.
  22. Enter a maximum value manually.
  23. Set the default value for this control to it's current scene value.
  24. Enter a default value manually.
  25. Select tab for Character Setup options
  26. Select tab for Expression Set options (click here for more information about Expression Sets)
  27. Click here for the Help menu
